‘INDIA. Snapshots of everyday life – Contrasts, spirituality and people’ is a cultural event with free admission, to be held on Thursday 18 June at 8.45 pm at the prestigious Palazzo Gregoris in Pordenone.
The evening will treat the audience to an evocative photographic slideshow curated by Patrizio Maniero. Through his photographs and the power of the images in sequence, the photographer will depict everyday life, the people and the unique atmospheres of India, capturing the essence of a reality rich in nuances.
The initiative is organised under the patronage and with the support of various local organisations, including the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Pordenone City Council, and forms part of the city’s programme of cultural events.
Close your eyes for a moment. Imagine the scent of spices, the sound of sacred chants along the Ganges and an explosion of colours filling your field of vision.
What we are about to experience will be a complete sensory journey. The multivision presentation combines photography with music and storytelling, blending the images into a continuous flow that will take us straight to the beating heart of India.
We will journey through the vibrant colours of Rajasthan. We will listen to the mystical silence of the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi. We will lose ourselves in the gazes of its people and the majesty of its temples. India is not merely a geographical location; it is a state of mind that bewilders, captivates and changes those who experience it forever.
An opportunity for photography enthusiasts, travellers or anyone simply curious to immerse themselves in a culture dating back thousands of years through the language of images and sound.
Switch off your mobile phones, awaken your senses and let yourself be carried away by the sensations.
