The journey through time in the ‘Aspettando la Giostra’ series continues with an evening event dedicated to the mysteries, knowledge and status of women in the Middle Ages. The Archaeological Museum of Western Friuli invites you to a special evening to explore the link between science, faith and folk traditions through the centuries.
‘From Hildegard of Bingen to Angioletta: Manuscripts, Secrets and Wonders from the Middle Ages’ is the title of the free lecture to be held on Friday 19 June at 8.30 pm at the Bastia di Torre in Pordenone.
The event, led by Dr Monia Montechiarini, will offer a fascinating historical and anthropological exploration of herbariums, parchments and ancient legal texts. It will be a journey aimed at uncovering stories of women, the law and ancient folk traditions, comparing the local context with the Italian and European contexts of the time.
The event forms part of the cultural programme organised by the Archaeological Museum and the Municipality of Pordenone as part of the joint initiative ‘Towards Pordenone: Italian Capital of Culture 2027’.

A28 motorway Portogruaro–Conegliano, exit Pordenone (Fiera). After the exit, turn right towards the city centre and follow the signs for Museo Archeologico.
The museum has two car parks with a total capacity of around 40 cars.
On foot:
from the train station to the Museo Archeologico it takes about 45–50 minutes. You can reach it by following the urban itinerary “The city of the river and connections”.

Palazzo Ricchieri takes centre stage again on three Thursdays in July (2nd, 16th and 23rd) with “MusicAL MUSEO”, a project organised by the APN Association as part of the “Thursdays under the stars” programme.
The course offers four itinerant meetings through some of Pordenone's most significant locations, with the aim of learning to observe and describe urban spaces through life drawing.
