Among the construction projects already underway at the Town Hall Loggia—where extraordinary maintenance work is being carried out on the roof, including the replacement of the skylight and the reinforcement of the towers—there is now a project of great symbolic significance: the replacement of the town bell in the clock tower.

Through two resolutions adopted on June 23, 2026, the Administration awarded contracts for both the supply and installation of the new bell and the professional services required to manage the authorization process with the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape for Friuli-Venezia Giulia, for a total investment of approximately 14,900 euros to be covered by the municipal budget.

“This project was very important to us,” says Deputy Mayor Mara Piccin, "because the town bell is not just a mechanical component: it is an integral part of the Historic Town Hall’s identity and the city’s soundscape. As part of the work already underway on the roof of the historic building, this was the right time to restore the clock tower to full functionality, safely and using materials designed to ensure the structure’s longevity. The Administration chose to act promptly and consistently, integrating this project into the existing construction site to minimize disruption and optimize public spending.”

The old bell posed a potential safety hazard: its removal made it necessary to replace it with a new one that was suitable for installation and capable of ensuring adequate standards of safety, reliability, and durability over time. Since the building is a historically protected structure, the project required authorization from the Superintendency; an external professional with proven experience in architectural heritage and dealings with preservation authorities was brought in to assist with the application process. The supply and installation work was entrusted to a specialized company, selected through the eAppalti FVG online platform.

Pordenone City Hall is the administrative and symbolic heart of a city that looks to the future: with Pordenone set to become the 2027 Italian Capital of Culture, caring for the architectural heritage that defines its identity is an act that combines responsibility and vision.
