Piano city Pordenone 2026

1 January 0001

Imagine the city waking up, its stones and waters holding their breath: three evenings in which the sounds of the piano rewrite the memory of the squares. This is the promise of Piano City Pordenone 2026, taking place from 19 to 21 June: three nights that transform the city centre into a shared stage, where music tells stories that link the past and the present.

Friday 19 June, 9.00 pm — Piazza della Motta
The opening will be a collective performance: four pianos, sixteen pianists, thirty-two hands racing across the keys. An opening designed to surprise, like a choir that suddenly breaks out in the square, evoking the lively spirit of urban spaces of yesteryear.

Saturday 20 June, 9.00 pm — St Mark’s Square
“Allegro con brio” takes centre stage with Leonora Armellini at the piano: an evening of virtuosity and intensity, in which a great performer will engage in a dialogue with the architecture of the square, bringing details and memories to life.

Sunday 21 June, 9.00 pm — Piazza della Motta
The ‘Chopin Hour’ evening offers a surprising encounter between tradition and fusion: Yakir Arbib (piano) and Conti Bilong (drums) in an Afro-Baroque project that reinterprets the classics with new rhythms and timbres, as if the music were flowing through the city’s streets, bringing new horizons with it.

Why come? Because Pordenone’s squares, situated close to the water and the streets that have shaped their history, once again become a meeting place: listening here means sensing the city in motion, discovering details — a glance, a chord, a step — that link the present to stories of the past.
