Galvani tra design, impresa e visione: un progetto espositivo inedito dedicato alle ceramiche che hanno fatto storia

The programme of exhibitions set to enliven Pordenone over the next two years is taking shape: among the projects in the pipeline is an exhibition that explores Galvani ceramics from an original perspective – that of design, business innovation and communication – which have made the brand famous far beyond the region’s borders.

The exhibition, which will be held at the Galleria Bertoia and the Museo d'Arte - Palazzo Ricchieri, is currently scheduled to take place between late 2027 and early 2028, although the timetable is still being finalised and the exhibition may take place entirely during 2028.

‘The local community is eagerly awaiting this exhibition, and we want to respond with a project that lives up to expectations: one that is original, ambitious and capable of astonishing visitors,’ says Alberto Parigi, Councillor for Culture. ‘This is an exhibition I have been keen to see happen, and we are working hard to create an event that is not to be missed.’

An exhibition that aims to bring the history and cultural heritage of the region to life through a fresh perspective, one capable of resonating with a national audience and revealing lesser-known aspects of Pordenone’s ceramic production: alongside a selection of Galvani’s iconic creations – plates and jugs that have graced the homes of generations of Italians – the exhibition will showcase previously unseen pieces from private collections, rarely accessible to the public. But the true common thread running through the exhibition will be the focus on design, entrepreneurial initiative and communication – elements that have characterised not only Galvani, but the entire manufacturing identity of Pordenone.

A story that ties in perfectly with the slogan of Pordenone, Italian Capital of Culture: ‘A City that Surprises’, because to surprise also means being able to reinterpret one’s heritage through a fresh lens, bringing together culture and enterprise, creativity and vision. The exhibition is also part of an initiative to celebrate the entrepreneurs who have put Pordenone on the global map. Alongside Galvani, names such as Zanussi and Savio bear witness to a tradition of innovation and the ability to look to the future.

The project will also have significant educational and training value, thanks to the collaboration with Liceo Galvani and ISIA: the school and university will be actively involved, transforming the exhibition into an opportunity for the younger generation to grow and to reflect on the link between traditional craftsmanship and the contemporary world.
