The Pordenone Civic Museums come to life throughout April with special opening hours over the Easter holidays and on 25 April, guided tours, creative workshops and family events — a programme designed for everyone, from young children to enthusiasts of art, nature and archaeology.

OPENING HOURS DURING THE HOLIDAYS

On Sunday 5 April (Easter Sunday), the Museo d'Arte – Palazzo Ricchieri, the Galleria Bertoia and the Museo di Storia Naturale "Silvia Zenari" will be open from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 15.00 to 19.00. The Museo Archeologico del Friuli Occidentale, however, will be closed.

On Monday 6 April (Easter Monday), the Museo d'Arte – Palazzo Ricchieri, the Galleria Bertoia and the Museo di Storia Naturale will be open from 10.00–13.00 and 15.00–19.00. The Museo Archeologico will be open in the afternoon, from 15.00 to 19.00. Easter Monday evening at the Galleria Bertoia will be even more special: Suazes is organising an event (admission fee: €9) featuring a DJ set and an aperitif within the exhibition. For the occasion, the gallery will remain open until 9.00 pm, offering a unique opportunity to experience the exhibition in an unusual and festive atmosphere.

On Saturday 25 April (Liberation Day), the Museo d'Arte – Palazzo Ricchieri, the Galleria Bertoia and the Museo di Storia Naturale will be open from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 15.00 to 19.00. The Museo Archeologico will be open in the afternoon from 15.00 to 19.00.

THE CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES

Guided tours of the Robert Doisneau exhibition at Galleria Bertoia: on Saturday 4 April and Monday 6 April, there will be two tours, one at 3.30 pm and one at 4.45 pm. A journey through 20th-century Paris through the eyes of the great master of French photography, Robert Doisneau, who took the iconic photograph *Le Baiser de l’Hôtel de Ville*. Duration: 1 hour | Maximum 25 participants

Saturday 11 April at 4.00 pm: “Saturday at the Museum: Latin American wildlife at the Natural History Museum” sees the return of the family-friendly event “Saturday at the Museum: let’s…”, dedicated this month to a game exploring Latin American wildlife, inspired by Patrizio Maniero’s photographic exhibition. Duration: 2 hours | For families with children aged 6 to 10

On Sunday 12 April at 3.30 pm, a themed guided tour entitled ‘The Archaeologist Count’ at the Archaeological Museum: who was Count Giuseppe Ragogna? A passionate scholar, self-taught and tireless explorer of the past, who led countless excavation campaigns in and around Pordenone. The themed tour traces his discoveries and recounts the fascinating stories held within the museum. Duration: 1 hour

On Sunday 19 April at 3.30 pm, the creative workshop ‘Nature, in my imagination’ will take place at the Art Museum – Palazzo Ricchieri: nature as a source of inspiration. After viewing some works from the museum’s permanent collection, participants will be able to give free rein to their creativity by experimenting with painting techniques and the artists’ tricks of the trade, to depict nature as they imagine it. Duration: 2 hours | For families with children aged 6 to 10 | Max. 10 children

On Sunday 26 April at 3.30 pm, a guided tour entitled ‘Images from the New World’ will take place at the Natural History Museum, offering a journey through stunning photographs and zoological specimens from the museum’s permanent collections: the exhibition “Images from the New World – Biodiversity of Latin American Fauna” by photographer Patrizio Maniero reveals the hunting strategies and adaptations of numerous animals from Central and South America, inviting the public to reflect on their fate. Please note: since the exhibition’s opening, the photographs on display have been updated, offering new images from the photographer’s vast and extraordinary body of work. Even those who have already visited the exhibition will find plenty of new shots to discover. Duration: 1 hour | Maximum 25 participants.
