It will be an opportunity for all visitors to chat with the artist Alessandra Ghiraldelli about the themes that have characterised her work, whilst also having the chance to leaf through the books on display.

The Ghiraldelli exhibition, organised in collaboration with the Friuli-based DARS Committee in Udine and featured as part of the ‘Estate a Pordenone’ and ‘Verso Capitale 2027’ programmes, brings together for the first time a selection of artist’s books and ‘object works’ produced by the artist from the 1990s to the present day, alongside thematic series created using different techniques and materials, as well as new works conceived specifically for this exhibition.

The exhibition, on display in the Sala Esposizioni della Biblioteca civica since 4 July, has been well received, and the two evening openings – one of which took place as part of the ‘Thursdays under the Stars’ series – were also very well attended.

Ghiraldelli’s work takes the form of an existential map in which every mark is imbued with meaning and a sense of exploration. The exhibition highlights the deep connection between the Library’s space and the language of artist’s books, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to fostering dialogue between the visual arts, the written word and contemporary thought.
