On Saturday 8 November, “L’Eroica Fifa Blu” opens to the public – an exhibition celebrating Lupo Alberto, the most iconic character to emerge from Silver’s pencil 52 years ago. A journey through the evolution of a character who has captivated generations of readers, from his first appearance in *Corriere dei Ragazzi* to the recent Gran Guinigi Award received at Lucca Comics and Games 2025 for the “Tutto un altro Lupo” initiative.
‘Welcoming Lupo Alberto to Pordenone is like reuniting with an old friend who has accompanied entire generations,’ said Alberto Parigi, Councillor for Culture, during the press conference held this morning at the Palazzo del Fumetto. ‘This exhibition is a tribute to the power of comics as a universal language and provides yet another reason to discover the next Italian Capital of Culture and its extraordinary Palazzo del Fumetto.’
The exhibition explores how Silver managed to turn fragility into strength, creating a character who speaks to everyone through his expressions – “just move the pupil by a millimetre and it’s a whole different emotion” – and his companions at McKenzie Farm: Marta, Mosè, Enrico La Talpa and all the others.
On display: original artwork, the character’s graphic evolution, collaborations with leading Italian comic book artists (from Burattini to Casty, from Artibani to Faraci), iconic merchandise, and the ‘Tutto un altro Lupo’ section curated by Lorenzo La Neve.
The exhibition will be open at the Palazzo del Fumetto in Pordenone on Thursdays and Fridays from 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm, with no midday break.
